Oats Porridge (Savory)

This is such a simple & healthy breakfast recipe loaded with lot of flavors. I adapted this recipe from Rak's Kitchen, but have replaced coconut milk in her recipe with plain buttermilk.

In the recent times, demand for oats all over the world is on the rise due to its increasing popularity as a health/fitness food. Even traditional breakfast items like idli, dosa, pongal etc is getting a new makeover with this oats boom. This recipe of savory oats porridge is almost instant & effective for your busy mornings.

Garlic & fennel seeds in this recipe are the dominating flavors and I liked it. But, VJ not being a fan of garlic, suggested skipping garlic the next time. So, if you don't like garlic / fennel seeds, skip them and go south-Indian with mustard seeds, hing & cumin seeds. Just fry them in a tsp of oil and add to the oats porridge.

All in all, this recipe is a must-try for the following reasons.,
- is simple; needs just few minutes of your time.
- unlike sweet oats porridge this recipe doesn't need any sugar, which is good.
- is healthy & super tasty!!
